When I open the View All Media window the list pane is just wide enough to show the first 15 characters of the media name and then the rest of the window is the thumbnail gallery (and sometimes a property box if I set it to show). There is a setting to show List Pane only in the media menu but it is not sticky. Is there a preference somewhere that will save this setting so that I get a wider list pane or even a setting for the width of the list pane. Although simple enough it is irritating to have to alter these settings whenever I open the media window?

If you drag the divider between the panes, then that positioning should be sticky.
The same often applies to other multi-pane workspaces such as the Focus Window.
However, it is not as universal as requested by Wish List Ref 534 Preserve all Workspace and Window Characteristics that you can Vote for.

Yes Mike I have tried that but it doesn't stick, eevn if I simply close and re-open the media window. I use the media window a lot and I am pretty sure it did not behave like this until recently which is why I thought that I had accidentally changed a setting which brought it on. It's not major, I just simply switch the thumbnails on and off and I'm sure there are more important things to fix.

Sadly, you are absolutely correct in FH V6, which is a backward step from FH V5 that did remember those pane sizes.

Well here's an interesting thing. I set the Media Workspace preference to Do not allow the re-use of open windows.
Open a media window and get the narrow list I mentioned earlier. Immediately open a second Media window and the list width goes up to about 50 characters, more than 3 times as big and quite manageable. Open a third media window and it is back to 15 characters and as you open more windows it simply alternates between those two sizes.
This seems to me more of a bug then a removed feature and I have reported it to Calico Pie support.
