Using part of Note to customise a diagram

Post by wulliam » 15 Oct 2016 11:29

Hi,

I have created a new Fact to identify individuals who were tenants in various villages in various years.
The format is always the same: Tenant: Swordale, 1841
This data is stored in the Note section of the Fact. I currently have this text appearing on diagrams.

Is it possible to create an expression which will identify all individuals who have, for example, Tenant: Swordale listed?
If so, I'll be able to have a coloured box identifying tenants of that village but which doesn't discriminate between the dates.

I hope that makes sense!
William

Yes, have a look at the =GetLabelledText(...) and =ContainsText(...) functions.
e.g.
=GetLabelledText(%INDI.FACT.NOTE2%,"Tenant: ")
=ContainsText(%INDI.FACT.NOTE2%,"Tenant: Swordale,")

where FACT is your custom fact Gedcom code, that can be obtained from the Data Ref Assistant.
