I currently used version 5 and have a lot of media added to my tree, pictures of ancestors and copies of certificates and dowloads from other web pages such as Ancestry.
I am thinking of upgrading to version 6.2. There has been upgrades to the media section. How will 6.2 deal with my current media. Will it automatically upgrade it to the new format, or will I have 2 versions of media stored in my family trees. There are lots of it. I do not want to reload it all again so that it is all the same.
Kind regards, Ray

Re: MEDIA upgrade from FH v5.0 to v6.2
Welcome to your first posting on FHUG Ray.
Be assured that upgrading from any version of FH to a later version should preserve all your data intact.
But as with any significant software change, make sure you have secure backups just in case!!!
This should include not just your Project data but also your customisations and preferences.
See how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers under Backup & Recovery.
(Note that reverting to an earlier FH version is far from safe, especially going back from V6 to V5.)
I do not recall any significant changes to the handling of Media in FH V6.
What exactly are you thinking of?
Regarding Media, you are no different than thousands of other FH users, who have satisfactorily upgraded. Calico Pie have thought about the impact on users of every upgrade.
