* Relation to head in chart

I have modified the census text scheme to include the relationship to the head of the household as below. This is not displaying and I am not sure that I have the correct function. Searching in the all records I cannot find this relationship recorded. Ancestral sources was used to create the records and the "auto text" includes the relationship (I did record it).

%INDI.FAMC[1+].PEDI% was added to the following (ignore the text "address" as I was going to remove that later).

A few comments:

1. The 3rd Data Ref %INDI.FAMC>CENS.ADDR% is referring to the Parents Family record, Census (family) Event, that is NOT created by AS. What are you trying to display?
2. The 5th Data Ref %INDI.FAMC[1+].PEDI% is referring to the Relationship to Parents field. In the Focus Window and Property Box this is the Rel column to the right of each Child entry. It is also NOT created by AS. What are you trying to display?
3. The relationship to Head as recorded on the Census is in the Text From Source transcript within the Source record. The actual relationship to Head may not be the Son or Daughter relationship you are trying to lookup via PEDI, but could be Wife, Grandson, Mother, Brother, etc, etc. None of that is explicitly recorded by AS; not even the Head of household for each Census Event, so you cannot include that in your Text Scheme.

I am trying to display the relationship to the head of the household and thought AS may have populated a data record.

This expression was originally cloned and I have only added "%INDI.FAMC[1+].PEDI%".

1. I understand point 1 is displaying the address from the census record, which is being displayed.

2. I had assumed that AS would populate relationship to head of household and I have not entered that another way; so currently cannot be displayed?

3. Not recorded as a data point so cannot be displayed; understand. If the function INDI.FAMC[1+].PEDI% is to look up Son or Dau; is there a function to lookup the relationship as specified e.g. not constrained to particular relationships?

In the focus window there is the "Rel." column (screen shot below); is this the place to specify? A right click here does allow the specification of some relationships but not niece, nephew, G.Son, G.Dau. There is an unspecified option although that would appear not to allow "custom entries".

There would appear to be media images for this individual in the "Rel." column; I have no idea why.

1. %INDI.CENS[1+].ADDR% should be used to display the Census Address.
   %INDI.FAMC>CENS.ADDR% should NOT display anything, unless you have manually added Census (family) events.
2. In this thread you are mixing up Relationship to Head of Census Household and Relationship to Parent which are two very different concepts. The latter allows non-birth Parents such as Foster, Adoptive, Step, etc, to be identified. Relationships such as niece, nephew, G.Son, G.Dau, etc, make no sense with respect to Parents.
3. %INDI.FAMC[1+].PEDI% as explained above does NOT define Son or Dau. That is implicit in the Male or Female settings, and Family as Child link to Parents.
4. The =Relationship() function displays the family relationship between two Individual records.
   But as I said before, there is no data point created by AS for the Head Individual in a Census Event, so that relationship cannot be reported.
   You would have to create your own data points for each Census Event, perhaps by using the Witness feature.
5. The Child Media image is not considered to be part of the Rel column, but a separate Media column.

4. I have small number of records were I wanted to report relationship. So have a solution that works for.
