Is there a plugin to record an individual's crime and punishment details - if not - how does one record these details :?:

When entering the details of my wife's convict ancestors (3 in total), I came across the same problem.

I created Custom Events for 'arrest', 'conviction', and 'sentence', which looks like this:-

Hope that helps

I have moved this to the FH General Usage Forum, because as the User Group Forum says, it's for "Suggestions and requests for help on using this site. For help with Family Historian please post in the General Usage Forum."

If you need advice about creating custom facts, use the FH Help > Search Help, enter "create a custom fact" including the quotes ("), then click List Topics and review the first Topic or two.

If still not clear, then ask again here.

I created a Custom Fact called "Criminal" with the following Sentence Template:

{individual} was convicted of {=GetLabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Offence:")} {date} at {=GetLabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Court:")} held at {_place}. {=GetLabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Note:")}

The "Note:" can cover a multitude of things including details of the sentence. I then used the Standard Fact "Residence" for where the individual served their sentence (as they were often transferred on a different date) and just modified the sentence template for the fact so it made more sense.

There are various ways of documenting this, its down a lot to personal preference.
