Colour for families

Post by gwilym'smum » 15 Sep 2016 09:11

Hello, I have looked through the wish lists and saw Mike's list of colour options. I could not find my specific requirements. In my paper system I have a colour for the four grandparent's families. All related lines linked to each family use their colour. Is it possible equate the families in Family Historian to my paper system please? Regards Ann Simcock

I guess you are referring to Wish List Ref 548 Conditional Colour and Font Options that you can Vote for, and the associated postings that led to it.

For Diagrams you could colour some Box feature to match your paper system.
The Diagram > Options > Boxes tab Conditional Expressions can set Box Fill/Line/Text Colour or some other feature.
There would be one Conditional Expression for each grandparent ancestral line.

For Reports you could have four Report Types with different coloured headings, and manually choose the desired one for the people included.

Otherwise, the best you could do is annotate each Property Box Caption or each Report Record Heading with some textual notation such as {R} for Red, {G} for Green, {B} for Blue, etc.
