I have got a gedcom file from a My Heritage user with a lot of new family members. I am not sure about the validity of the data. Is there a method or plugin that can mark every new record id in the gedcom file and/or project file with a source "tag" that says for example: "Data from MH XXX website"??
Kind regards

Re: Automatic Source marking
Welcome to the FHUG Klaus.
The short answer is yes, the File > Merge/Compare File dialogue will offer to add a Source Citation automatically to every new entry.
However, you need to make careful preparations beforehand.
Import the MyHeritage Gedcom file as a New Project in FH and ensure it is fully FH compatible by using the advice in how_to:index#importing_to_family_historian|> Importing to Family Historian under Explore the topics in the order listed below to repair common residual problems. This is important, otherwise potentially abnormal data structures may get merged into your master FH Project and thus more difficult to isolate and correct.
Make sure you have a good backup of your current master FH Project just in case!!!
Checkout the advice in glossary:merge_compare_files|> Merge/Compare File and if anything is not clear then please ask.
Once you start the merge it must be completed or cancelled, and if you are at all unsure about the outcome then cancel rather than risking a merge.

Hi Mike
Thanks for the prompt answer. As you can guess I havent darede to press the merge button yet. At the moment I am trying to work the process out before making any changes to my master file.
Kind regards
