Merging two families

Suppose I discover that I have recorded John Smith married to the same Mary Jones as two separate marriages. I want to merge the two families, so I'd like to run a query which reports the Family Rec Id of all JS/MJ marriages. I thought that Family as Spouse > Miscellaneous> Automated Record ID would work, but apparently not. What am I getting wrong?

Why do you need a Query?
Just look up the JS/MJ records in the Records Window on the Families tab, using the Name Filter.

Automated Record Id is nothing to do with Record Id.
In an Individual Query you need to use the =RecordId(%INDI.FAMS>%) function.
But a Family Query would be easier, with a Column =RecordId(), and Row filters:
Exclude unless %FAM.HUSB>NAME% = JS
Exclude unless %FAM.WIFE>NAME% = MJ
OR
Add if %FAM% matches ...of JS and MJ

Roger, for the benefit of others with a similar problem, what was your preferred solution?

I wrote an Individual query and used the =RecordId(%INDI.FAMS>%) function. Until yesterday, I hadn't realised that functions could be used in a Query, probably because the FH help is so dismissive on this subject.
