Mark Never Married on Diagram

Post by pwe » 06 Jul 2016 18:38

I seem to remember that on earlier versions of FH there was a facility to mark a person on a diagram as "never married". I cannot remember how to find this facility and am wondering if it still exists on version 6. I have found the count of children attribute and the "no offspring" marker for diagrams but not the never married feature.

I can only think of the Marriage Status field, near the bottom of the Property Box, that can contain Never Married among other values.
It is perfectly possible to customise a Text Scheme to display that text.
It is also possible to create a Boxes Condition Expression that adds an Icon when that Marriage Status exists.
Does that ring any bells, or do you need some further detailed advice?

Thanks Mike.
I have seen what you mention but you can only use that method if the person has a family record. You cannot use it for someone who has never married/had a partner and therefore has no family record.
I have several wills made by women who still retained their maiden name and identified themselves as spinster in the will. In that case a marker by their name in a diagram would prevent me from looking for a spouse.
I know that I can accomplish this by other means but I just had a feeling that it used to be a feature somewhat like the no offspring marker feature.
It is certainly not a big deal for me but maybe someone can remember it or maybe I have a defective memory.

What you can use for an individual is the Marriage Count attribute, set to zero. However you would still need to customise the text scheme or box conditions to show this in a diagram.
