* Spellcheck and formatted text

Triggered by Transpose key stroke (13942), I've just updated and increased my vote on the existing Wish List item for Ref 79 Spell Check.

The whole text-handling area is becoming an area where FH seems to feel exposed.

If my scribbled notes can be spell checked, why not FH? (OK - the scribbled notes are in OneNote so there's a whole MS infrastructure behind, but you get the picture).

Then there's formatting - bold and italic, if nothing else, would be nice. Again, if a "simple" message board can do it....

These are (from some aspects) trivial, but they loom larger as they irritate longer and longer.

fhugdownloads:contents:utility_autohotkey|> Utility ~ AutoHotkey should be able to perform spellcheck (but not formatting), so I am looking into techniques. One tricky aspect is managing the dictionaries both for custom additions (for Personal, Place, and other names) and for different languages (even UK and US English are different).

BTW: To Vote more than once you could create new FHUG accounts and Vote from each one.

I had a word with Simon Orde at the WDYTYA show earlier this year and "bent his ear" on this topic . Whilst there are no firm promises, it seems that it's a topic that he is very much aware of. Mind you, I had a similar response last year ...
