I have some individuals who do not have a specific date of birth/marriage/death.. just a year.
In my narrative report these facts are omitted. The "sentence" is there, the fact is within the record; however, the actual year does not appear.
Report: Freeborn Balch (1634-1657). Birth: Died:
Facts: Birth date: 1634 Place: Salem, Essex, Massachusetts, USA
How do I make the entire Fact appear in the narrative?
In a similar fashion, identical facts are shortened.
Benjamin Balch was born/married/died in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts, USA.
The entire information appears in the narrative for the birth, but not the marriage or death. Fact data is the same for all three.
Also the sentences within these facts is complete, showing the entire place. Just doesn't appear in report.
Thank you,
Robin

Re: Narrative report Facts Shortenend
Regarding the missing Date years, what is shown in the Sentence box on the Facts tab of Property Box for those specific Facts?
Whatever is shown there should appear in the narrative Report.
Perhaps you have accidentally edited the Sentence for those specific Facts or the Fact Type Sentence Template needs adjusting.
Maybe the 'editing' you mention in Custom Report Narrative (13933) has upset them, so use Installation Settings to reset to defaults.
If still not resolved, then Attach screenshots of the Facts tab and the narrative Report to illustrate problem.
Are you talking about abbreviated Place names?
If so, that is a standard feature of narrative Reports to avoid repetiveness, but if you want full Place names use Report > Options > Main and untick Use Short Form for Repeated Place Names lower left.

David Balch
Fact sentences:
He Birth: on July 9, 1671 Salem, Essex, Massachusetts, USA
Died: on April 17, 1691 Salem, Essex, Massachusetts, USA
Narrative Report:
David birth: on July 9, 1671 Salem
Died: on April 17, 1691 Salem
Why doesn't the county, state, and country appear?
This happens with a number of records; some have only year of birth/death, some have born & died in the same town.
I would prefer not to reset to installation settings, because I have made numerous adjustments and like the format of the report.
Thank you,

Regarding abbreviated Place names, as I said, open Report > Options > Main tab and untick Use Short Form for Repeated Place Names lower left.
Regarding Date anomalies, check the specific Fact Sentence that determines the Narrative Report Sentence, and post what you find here if you cannot resolve the problem.
If necessary, you may have to post your custom Sentence Template for the Facts in question.
I find it interesting that you have customised the Narrative Report Sentences such they are very similar to what is produced by default by the Individual Summary Report. Are you aware of that report?

Your suggestion:
Regarding abbreviated Place names, as I said, open Report > Options > Main tab and untick Use Short Form for Repeated Place Names lower left.
fixed both problems, many thanks
