Changing backup type?
Some time ago I set up the backup format to 'Small (gedcom only)', but I now wish to change to 'Full (entire project folder)'.
Have been into 'Backup Options' and into 'Preferences' directly as well. Selected 'Let me choose backup type' , which is now displayed, but the other two options are still greyed out and therefore can't be selected.
What am I doing wrong, please.

Re: Changing backup type?
I believe these options are only available if you are working with an FH project not just a gedcom. When you start FH does it show Family Historian Project or Family Historian GEDCOM in the title bar?

Re: Changing backup type?
I note that in thread Changing PC (6607) you upgraded to FH V5 when changing PC. Did you at that time or since adopt the FH Project structure, or still using a just standalone Gedcom as Bill suggests?

Re: Changing backup type?
Thank-you, both!
Yes, Bill, you are right. Top of the screen shows Gedcom rather than Project.
I fear, Mike, that (as a fully paid-up member of the Wrinkly Club) I can't now recall actions at that time or any reasons for same.
Can you please suggest a way it may be reversed?
With renewed thanks to you folk.

Re: Changing backup type?
Further - still running under Win 8.1 as in the previous exchange of posts to which you drew my attention.
I assume that, in view of MS's not very subtle arm twisting, a switch to Win 10 is inevitable very shortly, and trust that wouldn't complicate the issue further?

Re: Changing backup type?
Upgrading from Win 8.1 to Win 10 has no impact on FH nor your data.
However much arm twisting Microsoft does, it is your decision, but the free upgrade expires on 29 July 2016. See glossary:windows_10_upgrade_tips|> Windows 10 Upgrade Tips.
To convert a Gedcom into a Project requires an import operation.
But to give you the best advice I need some details:
Do you know where your database Gedcom file is located on your PC?
i.e. its disk drive and folder and its file name.
One way to find out in FH is to use File > File Statistics and it is listed at the top.
Please post its location in your reply.
Do you have Media files linked to your database?
If so please use Tools > Work with External File Links and tell us what the first few lines in the File Links box says.
