Can I change the default location of the fh. files?

I'm W10, FH6.2, but the way I back up my files automatically every night is from the D drive, and FH puts its files on the C.
Therefore, I don't always remember, and I am fed up with accumulating new individual back-up files every day through FH's own back-up facility instead of overwriting the master.
Is there any way of telling FH6.2 to store its files where I want them, not where it wants them, or am I condemned to a nightly reminder to drag and drop them from C to D so the auto back-up will store them safely off-machine?

First a little housekeeping. Please click the User Control Panel link at top of this FHUG web page, and on its Profile tab update your Family Historian Version so it appears to the right of your postings.
Checkout how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers especially how_to:v4:understanding_projects|> Understanding Projects where it explains in the video how to relocate your Projects. So, no, you are not condemned to the C: drive.
If you are performing daily external backups, then don't bother with the FH Backup feature.
BTW: Don't forget the customisations in C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\ which can be preserved in your Project folder by using the Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings Plugin as per how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers under glossary:backup_and_recovery|> Backup and Recovery. This also preserves the Windows Registry FH settings.

Just copy your Family Historian Projects folder to the required location, then on the Project Window, click on the location link and change it to your desired location.
If you want to move the Program Data folder files, it's a case of either moving Program Data using the windows settings and associations, or creating Symbolic links for the files/folders you want to move. There is a tool for doing this in the Knowledge base.

I have discovered that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will break any symbolic links that have been set up. It has done so on all of my computers.
After the update the links need to be recreated.

Thank you for that warning John as I have not received the Fall Creators Update yet.
