Hi all,

I hope that this is the right forum for asking this question, I would like to add 'beneficiary' to my list of events. I have got right to the last piece of information that I'd like to ultimately have in my 'sentence'. It reads : {individual} was a {label} of the estate of the {note} on the {date}, {individual} received .."

After is says received I would like to be able to specify the amount the individual received - can anyone help?

Many thanks,

Louise

Hi Louise. I have moved this to the FH General Usage Forum. The User Group Forum is for "Suggestions and requests for help on using this site".

First a little housekeeping. Please click the User Control Panel link at top of this FHUG web page, and on its Profile tab enter your Family Historian Version so it appears to the right of your postings. Then I can give the best answer for your version, especially as FH V6 adds new features to Fact Definitions including Sentence Templates.

e.g. FH V6 adds Witnesses that may a better way of handing Beneficiaries. Also Sentence Templates support Functions that allow you to use labelled Note text. All versions of FH offer Custom Attributes that have a {value} to hold the bequest (I suspect you have defined a Custom Event).

How are you "doing" your beneficiaries? As witnesses to a probate or will, or as an individual event? If it's the latter, just make sure you create an Attribute rather than an Event and you can simply use {value}.

Thank you to you both for your advice and guidance, I have tried your suggestions and of course they are spot on.

Many thanks
