Unwanted commas in the records window

Post by JennyG » 27 Apr 2016 14:43

I have 4 names preceded by a comma in the records window which throws out the alphabetical order but they aren't showing when I look in the Property box. What have I done and how do I correct it please?

At a guess, I would say you have input an Individuals name without a surname (e.g. Anne // ) - this gives the result you mention.

No, it's not that. They all have surnames.

In FH V6 it is no longer so obvious where the surname forward slashes (/) are because by default they are not displayed.

So use Tools > Preferences > Property Box and set Show Surnames Between Slashes to Always.

Now exactly what appears in the Name field of the Property Box for the 4 rogues?

Alternatively, expand them in the Records Window to show the Name field and its slashes.

Thanks, Mike. For some reason there were double slashes after the surname. I've now corrected this and all is well. :)
