CrossOver and installation of Family Historian...

Post by zed » 20 Apr 2016 21:31

A few moments ago downloaded the trial version of CrossOver, with the intention of using this on my LinuxMint v17.3 computer- currently I run Family Historian v6.2 through Oracle's VirtualBox.

Installed 6 successfully but when I ran it found that my Licence key was not accepted. This is logical, of course, as my version is an upgrade from FH v5.9.

I uninstalled the version from CrossOver and then entered the full path to the version to be installed /media/zed/Data/Downloads/FamilyHistorian/Family-Historian/FH-Upgrades/install_fh4.1.3_dl.exe but CrossOver did nothing, inasmuch as the "Continue" button was greyed out!

Is there anyway I can install what I want to instead of the default chosen by CrossOver?

To get to version 6.2, through CrossOver, do I need to install all the upgrade .exe files from v4.1.3 to v6.0.0?

Just install the original installation FH V5 to V6 Upgrade file.
It will request both your V5 and V6 licence details.
Then upgrade to latest free download FH V6.2.
