Locking Property Box

Now that I have a new Windows10 PC and a 40" 4k TV for use as a UHD monitor, there is plenty of space on the screen to have the property box open on screen all the time.
Does anyone know if it is possible to 'lock' it open?
Would it be a feature worth adding to 'wants list'?

I presume you have explored the Tools > Preferences > Property Box settings for Property Box Options for Subwindows and set them all to Floating and Open it.

Check the Help button advice on those settings.

I think FH remembers the Floating position of the Property Box between sessions.

Mike,

That doesn't do what I want. If one clicks on Records, property box still closes.
I want property box to remain open, irrespective of which workspace I open.

It is not a major problem, just a niggle really, but if can be done, so much the better.

I keep the Property Box open (docked) all the time, no problem. Simply use Tools > Preferences > Workspaces and for each workspace select Open it as the Default Property Box Action When Workspace is Opened.

Also tick Open Workspace Window Remember Property Box State.

Works for me Mike, as long as you set the Options appropriately for each Workspace window.

Please post here a screenshot of your Tools > Preferences > Workspaces. They should all be Floating and Open it.
(Sorry, I said Property Box earlier from force of habit in FH V5.)

My apologies. Following your latest suggestions re Workspace settings, I set property box to 'Floating' and 'Open it' for all workspaces and problem has been re solved!

Thanks everyone.

Please note that it works equally well if the Property Box is Docked. I always keep it docked so that it does not obscure any information in the workspace window.

Lorna,
It don't obscure nothing, I have a new 40" monitor :D
I have FH6, Firefox and Windows Explorer open at same time, and there's still oodles of space!!

I recommend it, no more Alt_Tabbing between programmes!
