Printing a book - gutter

Post by Deirdre784 » 29 Mar 2016 15:14

Is there a way to set the page layout to include the 'gutter' margin for printing a book, so that if you print back to back the page layout is not affected by the binding? Thanks.

Yes, in the Edit Book dialogue, use Book Settings > Page Layout tab and set Symmetry to Mirror margins, headers and footers on even pages.

Then you can add the 'gutter' amount to the Left margin for odd pages, which will be applied to Right margin for even pages.

Thanks Mike, had tried both the options under 'symmetry' but hadn't changed the left margin. Was looking for 'gutter' like in Word. Many thanks.
