Website

I use a custom "Individual Narrative Report" (for Web, CD or DVD) for my website. I have "Privacy" option set to "Show basic details only".

My father has died but my mother is still alive.

On the generated web page for my father, their Marriage details do not show but my mother is listed among the Beneficiaries of my father's Will.

Why the seeming discrepancy?

How is your mother recorded as Beneficiary of the Will?
Have you used the Witnesses feature to link all Beneficiaries to the Will Event, or some other technique?
If linked through Witnesses then the Privacy option is missing that case and should be reported to Calico Pie.
BTW: Are you using the latest free V6.1.4 that has improved some Privacy features?

1) "He made a Will on 10 July 1997. XXXXXXXXXX, YYYYYYYYYY and ZZZZZZZZZZ were beneficiaries".

I was just surprised that there is NO mention of his marriage to my mother on his page. I understand the privacy option, and issue, but when it is a joint event then it disappears even for the deceased person.

2) I am using 6.0.4 - the update to the "Privacy" option in 6.1.4 is dealing with a previous report of mine.

1)
It looks as if you have used Beneficiary Witnesses, but the Privacy tab Show basic details only option is being ignored for Witnesses.

It says "no dates, events or attributes" are included so all Marriage details will be omitted.
If you check the Help for that Privacy option it says "This option applies both to the person that the report is about, and to any other mentioned Individuals."

So that all appears to be as expected, except the Beneficiary Witness should also be omitted.

2)
Please install V6.1.4 and check the same Beneficiary Witness problem still exists.
If so, then report it to Calico Pie.

I use the same report for my website but I have the "Omit all references to Individuals with Record Flag "Private" " as the only one of the three privacy related options on the first Options page ticked (all my "living" Individuals have their Private and Living flags set to On/Yes).

For my parents marriage (my father is dead), it is reported on his page as "He married on 17 July 1948 at The Baptist Chapel........" (so no mention of my mother), while the dispersal of his ashes (a Custom Fact, with Witness Roles of "Participant" and "Observer") shows as "His ashes were dispersed on 19 April 2010 at the grounds of Morg...." with no mention of the people doing the dispersal (because I am still alive!). If I change the "Omit all references.." flag to unticked then all the living people get mentioned in both sentences.

Albeit using different Facts, this would seem to give the detail wanted (viz. exclusion of living people).

That's what I wanted ... to a certain extent.

It's as if it's an all or nothing.

But thank you for your assistance.
