Dear All,
I am trying to create a simple query to filter all my sources that contains
the word "x" (a parameter) on the "Where Within Source" field.
I have created a source query but it shows no result at all.
I tried many of the "Where Within Source" suggestions listed on the Data
Reference Assistant on the Expression... No success.
Any help from the list? Am I missing something maybe?
Regards,
Pedro

Re: Help to create a query - list of all (Where Within Sourc
Pedro, please click the User Control Panel link at top of this FHUG web page, and on its Profile tab enter your Family Historian Version so it appears to the right of your postings, so we know how best to answer your questions.
A possible misunderstanding is that Where within Source is NOT a Source record field, but a Citation field.
The complication is that a Citation can exist in many places in the data structure.
It can exist as whole Record Citation, or a Name Citation, a Fact Citation, or a Note Citation in many different record types such as Individual, Family, Media, etc.
So no single Query can find them all.
A Fact Query will only find %FACT.SOUR.PAGE% items but for both Individual and Family Facts.
An Individual Query will only find %INDI.SOUR.PAGE% and possibly %INDI.NAME.SOUR.PAGE%.
The only way to find all such entries is with a Plugin.
The Search and Replace Plugin in Search Only mode will do the job, but you must be running FH V5 or V6.
Just select the appropriate options and it will produce a Result Set of all the matching fields.

Re: Help to create a query - list of all (Where Within Sourc
Thanks for the clarification.
That was what I suspected.
I am not familiar with creating plugins. Maybe I need to learn that also.
What I will try is to merge both Source and Where within Source.
Maybe that makes my task easier.
I have just post a question about doing this...

Pedro, please update your FH Profile as requested earlier, otherwise we don't know which version you are using.
Why was the Search and Replace Plugin not suitable?

Re: Help to create a query - list of all (Where Within Sourc
Hi Mike,
At the end I am actually trying to merge the Source title and Where within Source citations, as I posted in the other query Merging "Source" with its related "Where within Source" (13530).
Search and Replace does not helps on that, I guess..
Regards,
Pedro
