* Date calculator
Date calculator
New to FH and long time former TMG user. One feature I am missing is the date calculator which would take a given date and a time frame in years, months and days, plus or minus and give you correct starting date. Old obituaries often would give a date of death and age at time of death leaving you to calculate date of birth. Any plugins or easy way to do this? I am really having a problem with functions. Thanks

Re: Date calculator
Here are two suggestions from the FHUG Downloads:
fhugdownloads:contents:rjt_date_calculator|> Utility ~ RJT Date Calculator
fhugdownloads:contents:excel_birth_date_calculator_v4|> Utility ~ Spreadsheet: Birth Date Calculator V4
It should also be possible to write a Query or a Plugin to do something similar.

Re: Date calculator
I found the RJT Date Calculator useful and run successfully under OS X Maverick/Parallels 10/Windows 7 but since upgrading to OS X El Capitan/Parallels 11/Windows 10 it does not work. I cannot put slashes (/) into the date field, even selecting the date from the calender omits the slashes. I then get an error message "02 04 1871 is not a valid date". Any ideas what could be causing this problem?

Re: Date calculator
In Windows 10 go to Settings -> Time and Language and then check the Region is set correctly and the time and date formats (which usually match the defaults for the region).
