I have imported via gedcom from FTM into FH 6.1 and I have noticed that at least one of my people (Kate Stephens) has an entry "aka Kate Stephens" in her "box" on my ancestor tree. Looking at the "all" tab of the property box, she has one entry cited as the 1901 census, and one entry cited as the 1871 & 1881 censuses. I don't seem to be able to combine these into one record/fact. Is there a way of doing this, or do I have to delete the person and reenter everything? I must admit to not having explored very many of the program options yet as a new user, but this has me baffled

Copy the 1901 census citation to the other name. Make that name the Primary name and then delete the other one.

Thank you. I have managed to delete the extra name, but not in the way that you said as I cannot work out which property box has the "primary name" facility. Definitely a newbie here.

On the "Main" tab, click on <more> to the right of the Name. The gives you the alternate name box as well as titles, nicknames and can be used to sawp main and alternate names as well as delete unwanted names.

Paul, you admit to have not really learned how to use FH, so I advise you work through how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers especially the FH Book and Tutorials and then you will be more familiar with its features. Otherwise, you will continually struggle to use FH effectively.
