Having just upgraded from V 3.1.2 this is one thing I have found to be a backward step - the ability to view Media.
It seems that some ease-of-use has been removed to (a) make the product look prettier; and (b) attract users of other products.
My ideology, in anything, has always been "complete something in the least amount of steps possible".

Re: New Pre-release: 6.1.2 - Show Media
I was specifically referring to Show Media.tatewise wrote:Could you give an example? Will Benson said: It seems that some ease-of-use has been removed
I primarily use the "Records Window".
In V 3.1.2 I clicked the Camera icon and the image showed in another window, with the size dependent on my choices. I could see and read the Source image. 1 step.
In V 6.0.4 I click Camera icon, I select "View Media for Selected Record", and finally I have to double-click the Image. 3(4) steps.
This is what I have found after using V6 for 1 month. I am open to suggestions/advice on making this process simpler.

Re: V3 versus V6 View Media
I have started a new thread Will, because the one you posted in is specifically for pre-release V6.1.2.
You are correct that V3 View Multimedia camera icon was only one click, but I think it displayed all Media unconditionally, which meant you had to search through the records/thumbnails to find the Media you wanted.
Whereas the V6 View Media camera icon offers a filtered subset of Media, that although it adds an extra click or two, should mean it is quicker to find the Media you wanted.
In addition the V6 Media Window has many more features to improve your workflow, by showing where the Media is linked, simpler adding of Link to Face/Detail frames, mending broken media file links, etc.
If you are starting from the Records window on the Media tab, then simply double-clicking one record will open its Property Box which may be all you need.
