duplicate sources
How can I merge sources/citations that have become duplicated over the years?

Re: duplicate sources
If you are talking about duplicated Source records, then select the two Source records in the Records Window, and use Edit > Merge/Compare Records.
You may also have to review Media and Repository records linked to those Source records.
That will merge the Source records, but potentially leave two Citations on one Fact linked to the one merged Source. So use the Find Duplicate Citations Plugin to first List and then Delete duplicates. BUT BEWARE that it always keeps the first Citation and deletes the subsequent Citations, so make sure the one with most data (Entry Date, Assessment, Where within Source, Text From Source, Note) is top of the list in each case.
