Setting Flags to Records in a Resultset

I ran the plugin 'Search and Return Resultset' for Individuals whose location contained 'Kent', and got the resultset that I required.

I now wish to Add a 'Kent' flag to every record in the resultset, but the 'Set Flag to Row Records' option in the query menu is 'Greyed out'.

How can I do this?

The problem is that the Rows are NOT Records but some other subsidiary field.

You need to select the Individual records in the Records column.
Then use Edit > Record Flags... to add the chosen Flag.

Have you tried the option Add Selected Cell Records to Named List...? A Named List can include Family as well as Individual records.

The option Add Row Records to Named List is only available for Query Result Sets that are based on a single record type, as is explained in the Help for the Query Menu.

Mike,

Thanks for that. It explains why menu item is greyed out.

Peter,
Adding Seleceted records to a named list, just adds the place 'Kent' to a list, which also explains why menu item is greyed out, i.e they are not proper records as Mike states.

Peter, having used Add Selected Cell Records to Named List... you are no further forward, because a Named List has no option to add Flags, so Edit > Record Flags still must be used.

Yes, of course, but if "Kent" occurs in the Place or Address field of a Marriage event, or in a Source or Note record, there will be no Individual record in the Result Set to which you can add a Flag.

That is true, and the Named List will highlight that situation.

Then for each such record the Where Used Record List Plugin will eventually identify the Individual record(s) at the top of the chain and the Flag can be added there.
