Create a Website html tags

Post by ELM » 05 Nov 2015 12:03

Building a website at Step 6 I inserted 'To get in touch please click <A href="..\contact.html">here.</A>' as a hyperlink to a contact page but the following html was generated '<p>To get in touch please click <A href="..\contact.html">here.</A></p>'.
Why has the line been changed and how can I stop it happening.

Step 6 does not support HTML tags.
But since that is the Contact Page (_contact.html) why not just fill in your Name, Address, Telephone, and Email address?
Then one of the website tabs is CONTACT which will display all those contact details in a Contact Page.

Another option would be to untick Contact Page at Step 6 and insert your HTML via Step 8 using the Advanced button ... in the <body> section, below the menu bar, or ... at the end of the <body> section, which would then appear on every website page. Note that it would have to be a complete HTML line such as <p>To get in touch please click <a href="contact.html">here</a>.</p> but you will have to remember to include that contact.html file in your website.

A final option is to tick Contact Page at Step 6 (the box details are unimportant), but then upload your own _contact.html page to your website to overwrite the FH generated page.
