Family Group
Can you please help? (FH V6)
I wish to publish a Family Group Sheet. This particular family consists of Father. Mother, and two children. All details are correct in the Focus Window and Property Box. However, when I open the Select Records window and move the father across from the family's tab and click OK, The Famiiy Group Sheet only shows one child. Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Re: Family Group
The first thing to try is to display the family in the Focus Window so the Father (or Mother) is already selected.
Then when you use Publish > Family Group Sheet the Select Records window should have pre-selected the correct Family Record on the right, and you only need to click OK.
While in the Select Records window, make a note of the Family Record details shown there:
i.e. Record Name, Record Id, Children count, Updated date/time.
Now repeat using Publish > Family Group Sheet and in the Select Records window on the Families tab choose the problematic Father's record. Is this the same Family record as you noted above, or does it have a different Name, Record Id, etc?
If it is different, then you have two Family records for the Father, and that needs to be resolved, or perhaps you just have two people with the same name in two different families, and you have mistaken one for the other.

Thanks for your reply. In the Select Records window, on the right is the fathers name. When I expand with the icon to this name, it shows the whole correct family, so I have selected the correct one. However it still only publishes one child.

Re: Family Group
So near the top of the report, where it lists Husband:, Wife:, Children:, there is only one child listed?
Or are you talking about later on, where there are headings like Child 2: John SMITH?
What is the page Total top right?
Have you used the scroll bar on far right to scroll down to 2nd or 3rd page?
Try using File > Print Preview and the Next Page button at the top.
Have you set the Private flag on two of the Child records?
Does the Options > Privacy tab tick the Omit all references to Individuals flagged 'Private'?

Re: Family Group
Are you sure the second child is not just on the next page of the report? Have you definitely got to the end of the report? Sorry if this seems a silly question, but the only other explanation is that the second child is not correctly attached to the Family record, and you say you have checked that.

I think I've found my mistake. With only two children, I mistakenly expected to view the whole family on one page, but I've just found that there are two pages, the second child is on page 2. It appears that the space on page 1 is taken up with the photo of the wife of the first child which is shown below the photo of her husband, taking up space. Can I remove this photo on the Group Sheet without deleting it from the Focus Window?

Re: Family Group
Have a look at the Report Options > Pictures tab, where you can change the position and size of photos.
If you set Parents: Max Pics to 0 then both Father & Mother photos will be omitted from Report.
Alternatively, in Mother's Property Box on Media tab, Edit her photo and tick Exclude from Reports, but beware this will affect ALL Reports, and will have to be repeated on ALL her photos.

Re: Family Group
Thank you again. I have set the photo option for the children's spouse to O and the problem has been resolved. On the same subject, I propose to make my first book using Family Group Sheets basically to start with. I find that some spill over to the next page by just one line of text. To have a page in a book with only a very small amount of text on it is not good book layout. Is it possible to edit an individual page to avoid this spillover by slightly reducing spaces, margins, etc?

Re: Family Group
There is comparatively little you can adjust via the Settings cog per Report, let alone per page.
The adjustments that will affect page content are all under the Book Settings button.
So on Format tab try reducing Heading Level Font Size, and Hdg Level Above/Below Hdg gap.
Also on Page Layout tab try reducing the Margins, and possibly alter some of the settings on the right.
As a last resort, use View Book and then Save Book As > Word-Processor Document (RTF) so one page can be edited in a word-processor such as MS Office Word or OpenOffice Writer.
