Date Entry - An idle query

Post by bungleberry » 29 Sep 2015 08:07

I'm probably missing something here but tell me . . .

Why does the Date Entry Assistant (e.g. to enter a 'before' date under 'Range') demand that month be selected from a pull down list (January, February, March, etc) rather than a number being keyed entered as in other parts of the screen?

I just keep forgetting!

Surely this must have been asked before?

You are correct.
Although you can enter say Bef 6/9/1850 directly in the Date field, you cannot enter digits in the Month field within the Date Entry Assistant.
However, you can enter just the initial letter(s) of the Month instead of using the drop-list.

Thanks, Mike, for your suggestions, which i will follow up.

I remain confuzzled as to the reason for this anomaly!

There is no obvious reason for the anomaly, so E-mail support@family-historian.co.uk and request an enhancement.
