Opening a second project in a new window

Post by patriciaann » 20 Aug 2015 19:28

Is there a way to open a second project in a new window? Would like to compare 2 projects and am wondering how to do it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Just open another Family Historain. If you open from the desktop by double clicking the icon you can open as many as you want. I have found that if you open from the modern window of 8.1 it doesn't work. Use the desktop icon and it does!

saving changed settings could get messy, this thread might help

Anne's suggestion allows you to view two (or more) projects but the comparison is informal.

To objectively compare two projects you can use File > Merge/Compare Files.
BUT first take a copy of project A and compare it with project B.
If desired you can eventually merge the two projects retaining whichever data you choose.
