Reinstall after catastrophe!

Post by bormley » 03 Jul 2015 12:19

I have been using FH since V.3.
I have upgraded from V3>V4>V5>V6 and all the iterations in between.

I have had to reinstall Windows 8.1 following PC problems and I can no longer locate the emails from CP relating to the upgrades.

I do have all the license keys (I think!) for the upgrades.
However, do I have to go right back to V.3 and carry out all the upgrades or is it possible to short cut this?

Your advice will be much appreciated!
Cheers
Chris

Yes Chris, all the information you need is where David indicates.

In short, as long as you have the V5 and V6 licence details, and the Upgrade V5 to V6 download, then that is all you need to install V6 as per the Installation Details flowchart.

If you are missing anything then use the Licence Problems advice.

Hopefully you have backups of not only your Family Historian Projects folder, but also all your customisations in the C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian folder (or you recently used the Backup and Restore FH Settings Plugin).

See the Move Family Historian Settings and Projects advice for more details.
