broken links
I have just changed over to Family Historian 6.0.4 and inputted all my data from via a gedcom from Roots Magic 6. Problem is a lot of the media links are broken and I can only relink then one at a time. Surely there must be a better way. On Roots magic in can repair broken links on mass by searching specified folders. This is the only downside of Family Historian 6 and it is a very big one. Can anyone help?

Re: broken links
Use Tools > External File Links. This will show you where FH is expecting to find the files. If it is just a case of re-mapping entire folders this can be done en masse. Click on the Help button in the External File Links dialog for guidance.
If individual file links are broken, rather than entire folders, then in the media Window the filename will display in red, prefixed by 'File not found - '. In that case, clicking on the link will open a File Not Found dialog box, with options for locating the missing media file - which includes letting Family Historian search for the file for you.
Have a look at the Help files under How to Fix Pictures That Won't Display (Repair 'Broken Links')

Re: broken links
There ia advice in how_to:v4:understanding_projects|> Understanding Projects regarding the Help Notes for Upgrading Users where it says
Also how_to:changing_external_file_links|> Changing External File Links gives further advice if Lorna's suggestions do not resolve your links.Any multimedia files that are located in the same folder as the GEDCOM file you are importing, or in a subfolder beneath it, will be copied to the 'Media' subfolder within the new project folder, preserving the original folder structure as much as possible.
