FH on a tablet - new solution

Post by Valkrider » 01 May 2015 06:39

There have been many posts on using FH on an iPad or Android tablet. The Surface tablets that run full Windows not RT have always been very expensive. There is now a much cheaper alternative. The Linx range of Windows tablets. They are available in 7, 8 and 10 inch sizes and vary in price from £65 > £90 > £170 all are available from Amazon and apparently Sainsbury's sometimes have them at discounted prices. They currently come with 12 months Office 365 included.

Now the good news they are full Windows 8.1 and they run Family Historian and Ancestral Sources without a glitch. 4-5 hours battery life, hdmi output so can use a large monitor / TV for display (8" and 10" have this not sure about the 7") and have Bluetooth so you can attach a keyboard and mouse.

Well worth a look if you want to take FH with you. 8" on Amazon link.

Thanks for that tip. Useful as I need to look for something portable for record offices etc.
