Hi
I seem to be having an issue regarding the ordering of 'Events & Attributes' within the Facts tab of the Property Box.
I have entered two facts relating to a census. The first fact is a Co-residence fact with details entered against the place and age fields with a date of in this instance 1881 (No day or month entered). The second fact is a customised Occupation fact which I would like to appear below the Co-residence (or indeed below an individual residence) fact when relating to a census. Again date entered is 1881 without a day or month.
When entered these appear within the Property Box Facts tab pane with the Occupation fact above the Co-residence fact entry.
These have supposedly been sorted in date order?
I wish to transpose these entries, and the move up and move down arrows are greyed out. I have looked in my copy of Getting the most from Family Historian 5 (page 64) but this does not seem to aid my predicament. A number of icons have either changed or apparently disappeared from v5 to v6 and it would indicate that I should be able to transpose the two facts if the arrows are not greyed out.....but why cannot I change the order of two entries with the same year entry?
Is there a setting (possible within Fact Definition?) that needs to be changed to allow me to achieve manual arrangement of such facts with just a year entry, or some other subtle workaround?
My version of FH is 6.0.4
Many thanks in advance
Shiriki

In the Facts tab if you select one of those Facts with the same Date then the up/down arrrows become functional.
In the All tab you can perform similar operations on any Facts regardless of their Date.
There have been changes in this area between V5 and V6.
See V6 Facts tab List in Record Order missing (12228).
In the All tab you can perform similar operations on any Facts regardless of their Date.

I assume your Co-Residence fact is a custom Family fact. Family facts have a red dot next to them in the Inividual Property Box, Individual facts have a blue dot and Child facts have a grey dot. Although Family facts (and optionally some Child facts) can be displayed in the Individual's facts tab they belong to different records and can only be re-ordered within their own records.
In the Individual's All tab the Family facts will always be listed after the Individual facts, regardless of dates. This cannot be changed, although facts can be moved up and down within each group.
The Facts tab can display the different types of fact in date order, but where a Family fact and an Individual fact have the same date, as in your example, the Individual fact will always be shown first. So the only way to achieve what you want would be to make one date later than the other, even if only by a day.

Re: Odering of Events & Attributes (FH v6)
Hi Again
Have looked at this again and also the post referred to and I am still scratching my head.
My Occupation (Census) fact appears in both the Facts and All tabs of the Property Box.
However, my Census (Co-residence) appears in the Facts tab but not in the All tab?????
If I use the All tab and by using the up/down arrow keys I can move (and hence change the order) an Occupation (Census) say 1881 entry to below the equivalent Occupation (Census) 1901. This seems to make no difference to the order when viewed in the Facts tab (should it?) or indeed makes no difference when generating an Individual Narrative Report. Have I missed something but what should I see happening?
Coming back to my Census (Co-residence) fact......is it because it is shared across two individuals that I cannot re-order it or have I not cofigured something correctly within the Fact Type?
Most perplexed...

Thanks Lorna
I was composing and had posted my response before I realised you had posted yours...
Your explanation seems to confirm my suspicions regarding 'Co residence' and that it seems an individual fact has a higher priority to a couples on the same date.
Makes me wonder if I can have a 'Co occupation' fact with perhaps the head of the household occupation being stated and the spouse's stating as being 'none' recorded......(if applicable)
Have to put my thinking cap on and see if this gives me what I want or perhaps use your suggestion of entering the day of the census and the following day for the fact I want to be second...
Thanks again for the prompt responses.

Re: Odering of Events & Attributes (FH v6)
What you need to get your head round is that the Co Occupation Fact is Family Fact like Marriage and Divorce.
These do NOT exist in the Individual Record but in the Family Record.
The only data that can be stored in a Family Fact that is different for the two Individuals is their Age.
All other data in a Family Fact is identical for both Individuals because there is only one Fact.
May be you are unaware of Family Records?
In the Records Window use View > Record Lists > Families.
A Families tab will appear in which you can see Family Records.
Select the record for the couple in question and open the Property Box.
On the Facts tab you will see the Co Occupation Fact and perhaps other Family Facts.
These are displayed in the Individual Property Box of both partners.
Similarly, TimeLine Facts from other close relatives are also displayed.
However, those Facts reside in other Family Records or Individual Records.
In the Facts tab, the Facts are displayed in Date order by default, regardless of their order in the records.
