What would be the best way to record people who sent wreaths to a funeral?

I have a couple of newspaper reports of an individual's death and subsequent funeral. These reports provide a long list of people who attended the funeral, and others who didn't attend but sent a wreath. Those attenders and non-attenders are a mixture of people who were related and unrelated to the deceased. For those who attended the funeral, I have a custom 'mourner' event. If the mourner was unrelated to the deceased, I link them to the latter as an associated person and describe the relationship simply as 'mourner'.

What's the best way to record those who didn't attend but sent a wreath? As with the unrelated individuals who attended the funeral, I would like to link them to the deceased as an associated person. However, I'm not sure of the correct/best nomenclature to use to describe their relationship with the deceased. Using something along the lines of 'sent a wreath to deceased's funeral' seems a bit clumsy. In a similar vein, what's the best way of wording/naming a custom event to record the fact that they sent a wreath? Again, something like 'sent a wreath' seems a bit clumsy.

Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Ed, could you please update your FH Version so it appears in the right-hand panel, then you don't have to tell us in the posting. At the very top of this FHUG page click User Control Panel, then on the Profile tab select Family Historian Version 5 at the bottom and click Submit.

I am tempted to suggest you use your Mourner technique, and add a note saying they were unable to attend but sent a wreath.

If you upgrade to FH V6 it has a much better way of recording such Witnesses to any Fact in which you can choose their Role. In addition to Mourner you could perhaps have Lamenter.

Beware that if you upgrade to say the FH V6 Trial then getting back to FH V5 compatible Gedcom/Projects is fraught with pitfalls.
So take a Full Backup beforehand, including using the Backup and Restore FH Settings Plugin, and make sure you have you FH V5 installation media and licence details.

Thanks Mike. However, I've just noticed (and had confirmed by previous posts on the subject) that v6 isn't compatible with XP, which I'm running.
