* Phantom Age

Please help, I have two people who have an 'Age' but no date.
I have entered a dummy death which cleared the 'Phantom Age', but when the death was deleted the 'Phantom Age' re-appeared.
There must be a field that I cannot find with the 'Age' in it.
It may have been transferred from 'Family Tree Maker' many years ago.

The Focus window displays a person's age if they have a birth date but no death date, provided their calculated age would be no more than the maximum life span which by default is set to 100. So to avoid the 'phantom' ages appearing you can either:

1. Customize the Focus window so that it does not display ages at all. Click Customize View at top right of Focus window, (or use Tool> Preferences >Focus window), and untick Ages.

or
2. Use Tools > Preferences > Estimates to set the maximum life span to a figure less than 100.

Personally I just ignore the age shown in the Focus Window!

You can also just turn off Ages in the Focus Window in preferences.

Thanks for the replies, I have just checked it with my new granddaughter and sure enough there is her age.
