* V6 narrative reports

Apologies... but I cannot find any where the button to post a new topic.
My concern is the new way V6 has laid out the Narrative Reports which when I click Descendents by Generation does not give me a chronological listing from Root to the latest generation. I have 309 pages for a tree of only 169 people. This is ridiculous I can't possibly print this out for relations who don't have a computer and it is very, very muddling. Please help!

To start a new topic, open the relevant forum (in this case the General Usage forum) and click Post a new topic in the orange rectangle below the forum name.

As you are now using V6 could you please update the version in your user profile (currently displaying as V5). Click User Control Panel at the top of the page and on the Profile tab scroll down to the bottom for the Family Historian version.

I am not aware of any change in the narrative reports for Descendants by Generation between v5 and v6. The report is still divided into sections labelled Second Generation, Third Generation, etc. Could you be a bit more specific about what you are seeing that is wrong? Are people appearing in the wrong generation? Or are they out of order within the generation?

I wonder if after selecting Publish > Narrative Reports > Descendants by Generation in the Select Records window you have clicked the >> Add All buton so that all 169 people are listed on the right?

What that does is create a separate Descendants by Generation report starting from each of the 169 people.

Usually, you select the person in the Focus Window or Records Window for whom you want the descendants reported, and leave that one person selected in the Select Records window mentioned above.

The Ancestors/Descendants by Generation reports only include direct ancestors or descendants of a chosen Individual, and so are unlikely to include everyone in your tree.
