Is there any way of reconfiguring the default media report so it includes Facts Media as well as normal Multimedia please? By default it only includes Multimedia and I would prefer it to show all types of media as it would allow me to work out what media I needed to add to each individual. I know I could just use "View Media Linked to an Individual" which then opens the Media Gallery showing both types, but it would be useful if the Media Report worked the same way.
That said, I'm really pleased they have introduced the facility in FH6 to associate media with Facts and not just clump it all together as just multimedia because it makes life easier with the reports.
Thanks
Nicola

There is no way to customise the Media Report as you request, but having use Media > View Media Linked to <Individual> just select all the Media Records/Thumbnails and then Publish > Media Report.

Thanks Mike. Bit of an oversight really since reports such as Individual Summary Report do include the Facts Media by default.

True, but as with all similar Reports, it only includes 1 of most Picture Types and 5 of Other.
So you need to increase those Max Pics numbers on the Pictures tab to include all Media.
Also any Media that have ticked Exclude from Reports will be missing!

I've got to tweak quite a few of my media in various trees because I've Facts Media in the Media Gallery (obviously the only place you could link it under FH5) and now need to move them to Facts Media and remove from "Picture" Media. Mind you changing the documents to Facts Media will re-enable them for reports, under Media Gallery they are excluded as I didn't want them appearing where I didn't have a "picture" of the individual to add as first media and default image in any reports.
I do like the Facts Media feature and am surprised it wasn't better publicised, I only became aware when I saw your posting on here about it.

The reason for little publicity is that it has always been available.
In early versions it was only featued on the All tab, but since FH V4 it has been on the Facts tab too, with a count under the Media column, and a camera icon to View/Add Media per Fact.
What is new in FH V6 is updated icons in the Facts tab, and in Reports the Picture Type of Other.

Thanks Mike, wasn't aware of that. Just glad I don't have that many to amend, was in the process of attaching them gradually. Unfortunately, with 16 years of research I have rather a lot of media that needs to be linked, it'll take some time.

I have to ask, but are you also unaware of
Source Citations?
It is often better to attach
Fact related
Media to a
Source record, and then cite that
Source record from its asociated
Facts.
The answer continues in the thread
Source Citation Methods 1 & 2 (12386).

As you will be aware from the thread you linked to (as I have posted in it already), yes I am aware of Source Records and Source Citations, and within that thread I have listed why I disagree with what might be the majority view about the way they are used. When it comes down to it though, it up to personal preference for the individual as to how they wish to present their data.
