Create a CD
I am attempting to create a CD of my family tree for other family members, but am having problems.
I do not seem to be able to get past Contents Item 1.
I get people into it and can open it from FH CD-DVD. People stuff is shown and the links to relatives work but Statistics and Index come up and say that This Page Can't Be Displayed.
I don't know what I am doing wrong, unless trying to put too much in.
Can somebody help me please
Thanks
Roger

Re: Create a CD
Not sure how to Edit these things, but I must have had too many people on the CD. It came up trumps just after I sent the previous note. I will need to play with it to see how different set-ups work. Contents and such need some cleaning up.

Re: Create a CD
I am gradually working through the various layouts/formats/inclusions etc. for this job with some success, but have 2 areas that I cannot sort out.
1) When I create a Chapter for myself and then open that Chapter, it does not show "SEE ALSO" Roger's Father/Mother etc. above the Name and below the "Home, Statistics, Index" row. If I open myself from the Index it DOES show "SEE ALSO" Roger's Father/Mother etc. and they can be accessed. What am I missing?
2) Following on from all the discussions of PLACE and ADDRESS and using a 4 comma format for Addresses, using the last 3 parts causes the address to be shown ",town, county, country" when ideally the leading comma should not appear. Can this be cleaned up or is it a fact of life?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Create a CD
1) I guess the Chapter is a separate HTML Report or Book that you are adding to the Step 4 - Table of Contents that appears on the Home page. That Report/Book is a completely standalone HTML page without any hyperlinks to any other pages.
Whereas, all the featured HTML pages linked to the Index of Names are specially amended by the Make a Family Tree CD/DVD Wizard to have hyperlinks not just in the SEE ALSO section but throughout the rest of the page.
2) It partly depends on which Report type(s) you have chosen on Step 3 - Choose Report Template. However, I believe Address fields eliminate redundant commas in all Reports correctly. It is Place fields that in some Reports do not eliminate redundant commas, and has been an outstanding issue since the release of FH V5 (yes V5 not V6!)
You are welcome to report it again to support@family-historian.co.uk who might hopefully fix it some time soon!

Thanks, Mike. Answers questions but doesn't necessarily solve problem.
I have contacted FH as you suggested

Re: Create a CD
What were you hoping to achieve with your separate Chapter via the Table of Contents?
Did you get Address and Place reversed by mistake in your earlier posting?
You said Address had a comma problem, but my answer explains that Place has the comma problem.
Which did you report to FH as having a problem?
