Hi,
I have scanned quickly through the posts and can't see anyone reporting this, but I might have missed something, if so I apologise for double posting.
I only got my V6 last week and haven't used it much yet, but tried to look something up this morning and discovered that when on the property box, navigated to a spouse and tried to use the "Go to Record" button at the top of the box nothing happened. This used to jump me straight to the individual in the full listing. It still works when I've got the full list visible, but when I have previously done a search and only a selection of people are visible, which doesn't include the person I am trying to jump to, nothing happens.
I have tried this in a couple of my projects and the same thing happens.
I'm not sure I like the way the full list cuts right down to the person you've put in the search box at the top incidentally, I liked seeing everyone off similar names on the screen, sometimes I remembered a connection or spotted a link that was useful.
Thanks,
Linda

Re: Go to Record button not always working
Because the new search is actually a filter, if you don't clear it, then if the person whose record you want to jump to isn't in the list, then you can't see the record. Clear the filter first, then jump to record will work.

Re: Go to Record button not always working
There are a number issues here.
- It would seem to make sense that when Go to Record is used, the Filter should be automatically cleared and the Record highlighted as in earlier versions. (It can be awkward to go and Clear the Filter and then return to where you were to use Go to Record.)
- Similarly, in a filtered Records Window list, the Go To: Record Id feature does nothing if the Record Id is not listed, but should clear the filter as above.
- There is a new way of finding Records Window entries, that is similar to the old Find, but without using the Filter. You can 'jump' to any row in a list without filtering, by clicking on the list and then typing a few letters quickly without pausing, to find the first row that starts with those letters - this is based purely on the text in the list itself, whatever that happens to be. There are no options that apply to this feature. It works with all Record lists, and some other lists too - such as lists of Plugin names.
