Problem with media in backup

Post by wigansaint » 09 Jan 2015 19:31

I recently realised I had added some wrong information to my family tree. I tried to restore a backup I had made but found that the media folder was missing and no multimedia images had been restored. Whenever I do a backup I always do a full backup. Are the media files restored to a different location? Grateful of any suggestions please.

The Media folder and all its sub-folders & files are saved in/restored from a Full Backup, but that does NOT necessarily mean all Media files are included.

If your Project has links to Media files stored outside its Project folder, then they are NOT included.

Are you sure what your restored was a Full Backup?
Did you use File > Backup/Restore > Restore Backup and choose a Full Backup?
Did it ask to create a new Project?

See glossary:backup_and_recovery|> Backup and Recovery for further details.
