V6 Bug? Upsets V2 Fact Sets

Post by electron1948 » 02 Jan 2015 20:27

Just updated to V6 after several years on V2.3. Trying to enter a cause of death I followed the help files and clicked on 'Add Fact'. Doing this nothing happens other than the button blinks - no drop down options or anything else. Am I doing something wrong?

Cause of Death is combined in the Death fact - open facts for the individual, click the death event, and there should be a line for cause.

Welcome to the FHUG.

I suspect the problem is the same as sometimes afflicted FH V2/V3 upgrades to FH V5.

See how_to:reinstall_family_historian|> Family Historian Installation Advice and under Family Historian Installation Problems see how_to:family_historian_installation_problems#v2_v3_upgrade_to_v5_upsets_fact_sets|> V2/V3 Upgrade to V5 Upsets Fact Sets.

If the symptoms match, then apply the fix.

If that solves the problem then please let us know so we can update the KB to say the problem also applies to FH V6.

I strongly advise you review how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers and adopt the Project structure and familiarise yourself with all the new featues by experimenting with the Family Historian Sample Project.
