Mapping error ~ Quebec

As far as I'm aware Quebec, Canada is a few thousand miles from the Alaskan Boarder, but not according to the Map Window in V6! :(

Looks as if it is mapping to Mount Quebec in Yukon, Canada. You could move the pointer to wherever in Quebec province you want it to be.

During testing, several map plotting inaccuracies were identified, and some even worse than that!

In order to keep costs reasonable, FH is not using one of the more well known geocoding services, but http://edina.ac.uk/ instead. See FH Help > About Family Historian.

Once the dust has settled on the FH V6 release, Calico Pie have proposed to set up a Gedocoding Error reporting service to feedback details to Edina.

In the meantime, my Map Life Facts V3.4 Plugin allows its Google geocoding service to be synchronised with Place Records and usually corrects most Edina inaccuracies. See plugins:help:map_life_facts:map_life_facts|> Map Life Facts ~ Help & Advice.
