Maps and Chapman Codes

Post by Greyflyer » 23 Dec 2014 14:21

Hi All

Is there anyway of changing FH6 so that it can recognise Chapman County codes when using the mapping feature. At the moment all my Perthshire relatives seem to be born/live/die in Peru!

Many thanks

Ron

It's only the Geo-Coding which is wrong, I see Mike has released the Map Life Fact's plugin and that recognises Chapman codes and once your places are mapped correctly they will be kept.

Yes, my Map Life Facts Plugin has taken a little longer than my others to make it to the Plugin Store. It needed several adjustments to cope with FH V6 features such as Unicode, Place Records, new IUP library, etc.

On the Set Preference Options tab, on the Location Plot Options sub-tab set Locatons From: to Place Fields only and Database In: to Place Records. In FH Tools > Preferences > Map Window it is advisable to tick Block Refresh for Non-tentative Geocodes, otherwise FH may well undo all the mapping established by the Plugin.

Read the Plugin Help & Advice for more details.

It may be wise to ensure you have a GEDCOM Backup of your Project to fall back on, before running the Plugin, just in case. But I am sure it will be OK :D
