I've run into a problem with Census Icons on my FH .ged file. I have fairly recently installed v.4.1 on a new laptop and copied the existing Census icon file (they looked like luggage labels) into Program Data > Calico Pie > Family Historian > Icons > FHIcons.
However, when viewing an ancestor and/or descendant diagram I'm seeing random "51" census labels; they don't relate to the people in the diagram at all.
Is anyone able to explain what is going wrong please?
Should I remove the file and add a new one? I am considering upgrading to v.6 at some point, but not immediately so plugins are not the answer at this point in time. I have noted that there is a new set of Census icons though.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Census Icons in FH
So if I understand correctly you have migrated FH V4.1.3 to a new PC laptop?
You probably have not copied everything that needs to be copied.
It is quite a complex process, depending on how much customisation you have done, and the Windows versions involved.
See how_to:index#installation_guide|> Family Historian > Installation Guide but in particular how_to:move_settings|> Move Family Historian Settings and Projects.
You need consider copying the entire C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\ folder, but also cater for Core Diagram customisation, etc, etc.
This is vastly simplified in FH V6 using a Plugin as explained in how_to:family_historian_migration_guide|> Family Historian V5 & V6 Migration Guide.
If you decide to persevere with FH V4.1.3 rather than upgrade to V6.0 now, then please ask if you need further advice.

Re: Census Icons in FH
Thanks for the reply. I thought I had copied the entire Calico Pie folder structure but I'll take another look as the original is still on a Desktop PC.
The PC is Windows Vista and the new laptop Windows 8.1.
However, as I'm hoping to upgrade early in the new year maybe I'll just delete the FHIcons and import new ones once the upgrade is complete.

Re: Census Icons in FH
As the Knowledge Base explains, there are some customisations and preferences in the Windows Registry that are more difficult to migrate.
If you upgrade to FH V6 then the migration is fairly painless and usually works fine.
See the how_to:family_historian_migration_guide|> Family Historian V5 & V6 Migration Guide.
