I have a census entry where the individual of interest is listed as a member of an institution.
I would like to create a Census fact where the role of the individual is a resident. I could use a Census fact with the head of the institution as the fact owner and the individual of interest as a witness (Role: resident of institution, or whatever) but then I have added someone totally irrelevant to my family history file.
Is there an easy way to do what I want?
TIA ... John.

Re: Individual census facts: resident role
The fact the Individual appears in a Census usually implies they were Resident there, but to be more explicit the usual practice is to add a Residence fact with the same Date, Place and Address.
If you use ancestralsources:index|> Ancestral Sources, this is its default option.
AS does much the same for BMD Events where a Home Address is given, by creating a Residence fact alongside the BMD Event fact.

This has never been the default option in Ancestral Sources census records but is certainly an option that can be set if you wishtatewise wrote:The fact the Individual appears in a Census usually implies they were Resident there, but to be more explicit the usual practice is to add a Residence fact with the same Date, Place and Address.
