Due to a glare problem with my eyes I have changed the Focus Pane to light green and very light green with black Segoe UI which works perfectly for me so I would like to do the same for the Sources. I have been hunting in the Tools/Preferences etc to no avail and doubt if it can be done but would like to check with you.

Yes, see Tools > Preferences > Property Box where Fonts and Colours can be chosen.
In Colours there are options for Sources Pane Background and other Property Box items.
