Gedstar Pro

Post by chapelblade » 14 Dec 2014 16:22

I use this program to convert my gedcom file for use on my android tablet. Since v6 I get a fatal error on trying to create a new database. The message in GedStar Pro reads Line #1 found in GEDCOM file without a level number. File TCGedParse.cpp, line 194

Yes, it will be the Unicode UTF-16 encoding of the GEDCOM plus the new custom Place Records, etc.

Use the Export Gedcom File Plugin to create an acceptable GEDCOM.

If you find out what Gedstar Pro likes, and it needs any special options, then I can add Gedstar Pro to the preconfigured options.

I exported a GEDCOM file from FH using the ANSI default which loaded ok in GedStar Pro.

Yes, but I think you will find that certain details will be missing.
Checkout Place Records, Multimedia images especially Face Frames, Witness Roles, and more.
