upgrade from version 5 to version 6

I am a bit annoyed and somewhat disappointed to find that having purchased version 5 less than a week ago you are now offering version 6 at an additional cost. Why couldn't you give me some warning to wait until the new version was available in one week's time which, presumably would have saved me the cost of the upgrade. Perhaps I have got it wrong and the upgrade from 5 to 6 is free?

If you purchased V5 between 15th October and 9th December you can get an upgrade to V6 free. See http://www.family-historian.co.uk/apu6

Tomclyde, just checking -- you do realise that you're talking to the user group here, not to Calico Pie?

Lorna, the free upgrade only applies to full licences, not to upgrades purchased in that period.

Sorry everyone - my mistake - I'm very new to forums but am learning fast.

So given I bought a full copy of v5 in late Nov, and registered with Calico for a free upgrade, how does one make it happen?
Anyone know?
All I get offered in the store is the full purchase price and I don't see any way of claiming the 'discount' - and the link for claiming it again has disappeared off the Calico website (though, yes, I can see it up above).

Just give Calico some time, I know when the V4-V5 upgrades were issued they were a week or so after the initial release.

I've just had an email with my upgrade details, so they have begun sending the emails out.

I applied for the free upgrade on the 10th December, as the site was down when I tried on the 9th. I got the automated reply, but nothing since. Are they still catching up with the backlog? It would just be good to hear that other people are still waiting, so I don't feel left out.

They may still just be working through the backlog.
Have you checked your SPAM E-mail folder in case it got directed there.
If it allows, try replying to the acknowledgement E-mail.

Thanks Mike,

Nothing in my spam folder and the email they sent was from a no-reply address. I don't mind waiting, as long as they haven't missed me out for some reason. Is anyone else still waiting?

I think most have been done now. If you have not heard one way or the other try sending an email to support@family-historian.co.uk

Do the Calico Pie people read this forum? I didn't contact them, but I just received an email saying "This email has been sent to you following a request we have received to re-send your licence details for Family Historian 6 Upgrade From 5." How strange is that? This is the first time of receiving it, so not sure why it's a re-send. Well, at least I have my upgrade email now, so I'm happy :D

I pinged them a message, your original is probably in your spam folder.

Oh I see. Thank you so much. That was really helpful.

I had already checked my spam folder though, on someone else's suggestion, but nothing there. Anyway, I have my upgrade email now, so no problem.

Thanks again
