V6 Dates Column

Can anyone please tell me how to change the date format in the date column in the records window. It's now in the format of c. 1910- I would like to get rid of the c. and just show 1910- My reason is that the c. causes the dates to line up incorrectly making it more difficult to glance down the dates.

You need to use Lists> Configure Record Window Columns.
Then select the Dates item on right and click Edit button.
Copy & paste the following Expression:
=Text(Text(Year(EstimatedBirthDate(%INDI%,MID))) . "-" . Text(Year(EstimatedDeathDate(%INDI%,MID))))
This not only eliminates the c. but also gives you life dates based on Birth/Baptism/Christening and Death/Burial/Cremation or if those don't exist then dates derived from close relation's dates.

Thank you very much, that worked well. I can always rely on a quick response to any problems I have from FH Users.

Mike, what would I put if I didn't want the birth and death dates estimated from other events?
I tried to fix the problem myself using the Data Reference Assistant, but couldn't manage to put in valid data. I went to Events - Birth - Date - Abbrev4 and put that in then "-" and then did the same for the Death event date.

You could use:
=Text(Text(%INDI.BIRT.DATE:YEAR%) . "-" . Text(%INDI.DEAT.DATE:YEAR%))
But even the standard =LifeDates() function takes account of Baptism/Christening and Burial/Cremation of the Individual if there are no Birth or Death dates.
You can reduce the number of generations inspected by the EstimatedBirth/DeathDate() functions to just the immediate family by adding a final parameter 0 to both:
=Text(Text(Year(EstimatedBirthDate(%INDI%,MID,0))) . "-" . Text(Year(EstimatedDeathDate(%INDI%,MID,0))))
Note that the 'estimations' only come into play when relations are inspected, otherwise the dates are accurately based on the Individuals own events.
