Non-existant Multimedia
My daughter in law has her tree on FH V.3. I have copy as a project. What I do not have are all the pictures she has added, so when I click on Media > View All Media, I get a window full of thumbnail placeholders, all crossed through. Now, I just help her with research and do not need the media and rather than have her send them to me so I can add them to my project I want to delete all references to them. Is there a quick way of doing this? It does not seem to be possible to select more than 1 at a time for deletion.

If you just want to remove them then just use the File>Split Tree Helper and select the Delete All Multimedia Records and then press the delete button, BEFORE you merge the data into your Project.

Just to add if you need to do something similar, but have already merged you can add any number of records to a Named List and then use the option on the List menu to delete all records in the list.

Re: Non-existant Multimedia
The reason your daughter-in-law FH V3 Media don't show in your FH V5 Project is because the File Links will be different.
But that could be fairly easy to fix as explained in how_to:changing_external_file_links|> Changing External File Links video.
